Moroccan Sahara: Bulgarian Expert Hails Visionary Role of HM the King
The US recognition of Morocco’s full sovereignty over its Sahara reflects the leadership and visionary role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, said Bulgarian international relations expert Maxim Behar.
The US decision reflects the importance of HM the King’s internationally acclaimed leadership and role, he told MAP.
For decades, the foreign policy of the United States, a world power, aimed at achieving peace in the Middle East and North Africa, Behar said, expressing hope that the US recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara would mark a turning point for a new vision of the region for other countries to deal with this issue, similar to the United States.
For the Bulgarian expert, diplomacy is the only way to resolve conflicts in the world and promote peace, security and economic integration.
On the resumption of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel, Behar praised the role of the Sovereign in the service of peace and stability in the region.
Highlighting the importance of this decision of rapprochement and its future prospects, the expert said that the United States, Morocco and Israel are fully aware of the major role of diplomacy in promoting peace and understanding.
In this context, he highlighted the peaceful coexistence between Moroccans of Jewish and Muslim faiths, noting that about one million Jews of Moroccan origin currently live in Israel and have remained strongly attached to Morocco’s customs and traditions.
