CORCAS Head Holds Talks with Speaker of ECOWAS Parliament
Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Khalihenna Ould Errachid, held talks on Tuesday in Rabat with speaker of the ECOWAS parliament, Moustapha Cisse Lo, who is on a working visit to Morocco.
Talks focused on the latest developments of the Moroccan Sahara issue, as well as on Morocco’s prospects for future action in the African Union, given the kingdom’s place in Africa and on the international scene and its efforts aimed at ensuring peace and security in the continent and achieving the continent’s development.
The meeting was an opportunity to exchange views on several topics of common interest, including climate change and Morocco’s accession to ECOWAS, Cisse Lo told MAP following these talks.
He recalled that this issue will be discussed by Heads of State and Government of the member countries at the organization’s summit scheduled for December in Togo, adding that Morocco’s request will be also discussed by the ECOWAS Parliament at its regular session on November 21 in Abuja.
