International Community’s Action on Sahara Issue Must Be Taken Through the UN
The Netherlands said that action by the international community on the Sahara issue must be taken through the United Nations (UN), said, Friday in Rabat, Dutch Foreign minister Stef Blok, who is on a working visit to Morocco.
Given the complexity and fragility of the process, the Netherlands believes that the international community must act through the United Nations, and in particular through the personal envoy of the UN Secretary-General, Horst Köhler, the Dutch minister said at a press briefing with minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita.
He also stressed that the Netherlands and the European Union consider that “finding a solution is a complex and long-term affair”.
The Netherlands continues to draw the attention of the international community to this issue within the United Nations.
