US News and World Report:Morocco Tops the List of Best Countries for Immigrants in North Africa
Morocco tops the list of the best countries for immigrants in North Africa, according to a report by US magazine +US News and World Report +.
The report is based on a survey of 21,000 people from 80 countries who have been able to meet four rigorous evaluation criteria: “economic stability”, “access to the labor market”, “equality of income” and “habitability”.
“Countries also were scored in relation to others on the share of migrants in their population; the amount of remittances the migrants they host sent home; and graded on a United Nations assessment of integration measures provided for immigrants, such as language training and transfers of job certifications,” the same source added.
In 2013, Morocco became the first country in the Arab world to adopt an immigration policy aimed at improving the living conditions of migrants and asylum seekers. Between 2014 and 2016, the Kingdom launched two regularization campaigns mainly targeting people from sub-Saharan Africa.
